The Bravery of Running in the Rain

One morning at Roger Williams University, the sky turned dark and rumbly. Huge gray clouds rolled in, and before anyone could grab their umbrellas, the rain came pouring down like buckets from the sky! Students peeked out of their dorm windows and saw puddles growing into mini lakes. The wind howled, and the rain didn’t stop. Everyone had class, but there was no way to get there without getting completely soaked.

Some students stood frozen at the door, unsure what to do. But a few brave ones zipped up their jackets, grabbed their backpacks, and dashed into the storm. Their shoes splashed through puddles, their hair stuck to their faces, and their notebooks were tucked safely in plastic bags. They laughed and cheered each other on, helping friends who slipped and sharing umbrellas when they could. It wasn’t easy, but they showed courage by facing the storm together.

Later that day, the sun peeked out and dried the campus paths. The students who ran through the rain learned something important: bravery doesn’t always mean staying dry or waiting for perfect conditions. Sometimes, it means doing your best, helping others, and showing up—even when the sky is falling.
